Characters: Hanako Noriko, Anei Kanashii, Nobuo Tanaka (and friends)
Set-up: Hanako Noriko and Anei Kanashii are in the lunchroom eating together.  They're talking about their first day, their lunches, and various other things.  Nobuo Tanaka and 3 other athletes are sitting nearby, watching the two and talking.

HN: "Finally!  Lunch!  I'm SO hungry!"
AK:  "Han-kun, it's barely noon.  How can you be hungry?!"
HN: "It's your stupid fault for making me eat breakfast.  You know that once I start eating I have to eat every three hours!" (An-chan looks at the  clock , then gets a thoughtful look trying to figure out if it's been 3 hours.)  HN: "I think I might die!"
AK: "You're not going to die.  What's for lunch today, anyhow?  Are you at least eating well, or am I going to have to make your lunches in high school too?  Good nutrition is important, you know.  Especially for someone as....energetic...as you." *He winces, expecting to get hit*
HN: "I can handle my own lunches, thank you.  Though yours ARE cuter.......  Anyway, I'm eating just fine.  See?" *She pulls out an enormous daikan* "Though I didn't have time to peel it.  You think that's gonna be okay?"
AK (In thought): "I'm pretty sure that's the least of your concerns here."  (To HN) "THAT'S your lunch.  At least have some rice, or some soup, or SOMETHING!!"
HN: "This was all we had that I didn't have to cook.  Like I have that kind of time in the morning." *She bites into the daikan* (With her mouth full) "This isn't so bad, you know." (Swallows) "Besides, the fanboys will love it."
AK: *Rolls his eyes* "What am I going to do with you?"

(Cut to the table behind them where there are 4 really tall guys who all look like athletes sitting together.  The tallest one is just staring at Han-kun and An-chan.  His friend notices and elbows him in the arm.)
Friend 1: "Hey, Tanaka.  I see you checking out that girl over there.  She's pretty cute.  Though I don't know about her personality...." (Han-kun is now gesturing wildly at An-chan with her daikan.) "Plus she's with that guy.  But, hey, if that's your thing...."
Tanaka: "Shut up.  I'm not lookin' at that girl!  Though, now that you mention it....."
Friend 1: "Yeah.  Okay, you weren't.  You were staring so hard I thought your eyes were gonna fall out."
Tanaka: "I wasn't looking at HER!  I was looking at the guy!"
*Everyone at the table stops and stares at Tanaka*
Everyone (in unison): "DUDE!!"
Friend 1: "Hey man....I mean...that's cool if you want to swing like that, bro, but.....you know....try to keep it out of the locker room and stuff..."
Tanaka: "No, dumbasses!  Look at that guy!  Look at how tall he is.  He's almost as tall as me...6'3" easy."
Friend 2: "You're into tall guys then?  Hmmmm..."
Tanaka: "I'm not into ANY guys, fools!  Look...look at the way that guy's built.  With him at the 4 and me at the 5, there's no way we'd lose."
Friend 3: "But....I play the 4!"
Friend 2: "And that's why we lose, Tanaka's got a point.  Okay, Tanaka my man, you're the first-year team captain.  Go recruit.  Nobuo-chan big love-love strategy....go get your man!"
(They all get up and leave and Tanaka is left sitting there looking at Han-kun and An-chan.  Han-kun notices him staring and turns to An-chan.)
HN; "That guy over there keeps staring at me."
AK: "It's 'cause you're pretty."
HN: "Aww....thanks An-chan.  I know.  But he's kinda creeping me out.  Let's leave, okay?" *She starts dragging An-chan away by the arm*
AK: "But...but....I wasn't done with my lunch.........Han-kun.......awwwwww."
Tanaka (in thought): "Damn.  Missed my chance."

Characters:  Anei Kanashii, Hanako Noriko, classmates, teacher.  Emi Sato, Miki Inoue
Set-up:  Hanako Noriko and Anei Kanashii have just entered class 1-A on their first day at their new school in Yokohama.  Some students know each other from Jr. High and are gathered in a group talking.  HN wants to fit in and be popular, so she starts trying to make friends right away.  AK is terrified and sits down in the far back corner of the classroom.  He sits in silence as the scene unfolds.

*Upon entering* HN: "Hello, Asahi Gakuen class 1-A!"
*Classmates all stare at her*: "Uhhhh..."
HN: "Noriko desu!  Yoroshiku!  You can all call me Hana-chan."
AK: *runs in terrified*"Han-kuuuun!  Matte yo!!!"
HN (yelling): "UGH!  GO SIT DOWN! STOP YELLING!"
Miki Inoue: "You're one to talk."
HN (in thought): 'Can you believe the nerve?!  What a complete bitch...."
Sensei: "EVERYONE sit down!  I'm Katakura sensei.  I'll be your homeroom teacher.  You can pick your own seats for now, we'll be drawing seat numbers in a bit.  First things first, though, class representative.  Since our class representatives are chosen by highest scores on placement test, this year's representative is.........Noriko-san."
*Classmates all groan*
HN: "Hey!  Wait...what?  Me??  I scored the highest?  How the he---I mean..umm...I'm honored to accept this responsibility." (In thought) "Oooh! That An-chan!  I'll get him for this." (To AK) "What the hell?  I scored higher than you?!  That CAN'T be right."
AK: "I guess you did...And by that, I of course mean, that I knew which ones you'd get wrong, so I made sure to do worse than that.  Seriously, what kind of class rep do you think I'd be?  You must be nuts."
HN: "I hate you."
AK: "No you don't.  Besides, you know you wanted to be class rep.  Now you can make ALL SORTS of ridiculous demands.  Plus, everyone will know who you are now.  Admit it, I've engineered things to all work out according to your ridiculous plan."
HN: "That's why I hate you!"
Sensei: "Noriko!  Stop talking!  Is that any way for the class representative to act?!  You're expected to be an example to the other students."
HN (Politely and sweetly): "Yes, sensei!" (to AK with annoyance) "We'll talk about this later."
AK *sits back and smiles* (in thought): "Ahh, it's shaping up to be a great year."

Characters:  Hanako Noriko, Anei Kanashii, other random students

Set-up:  HN & AK are walking onto the school grounds together.  HK is really excited about a new school and leaving behind her old "tough girl reputation.  She's moved to Yokohama from Shizuoka, so her Jr. High friends are all gone except for AK.  She's also excited about the really cute uniforms.  AK is hoping that people won't pick on him.  He's resolved to be more "manly", but he's still excited about all the pretty boys at his new school.  His family has also recently moved to Yokohama from Shizuoka, so this is a new environment for him as well.

Dialogue:

HN: 'An-chan, you have to be good at this school, ok?  If you get into trouble, I won't be able to save you."
AK: "What good is it to transfer schools WITH you if you're not even going to protect me?!"
HN: (In thought) "Like it was your choice....." (to An-chan) "Seriously, An-chan!!!  You have to learn to do it on your own.  Better yet...try not to get yourself into situations to start with."
AK: (In thought) "It's not like I try..."
HN: "Think about me here.  What about my reputation?"
AK: "What reputation?  It's the first day.  No one even knows who you are."
HN: "That's the point.  Here, I can finally have my reputation as the fragile, studious beauty!  Goodbye Han-kun, prefectural Jr. High girls kendo champion; hello Hana-chan, most desireable girl in the school."
AK: (In thought) "Who is this creature, and what has she done with my best friend?" (to HK) "What about me?! And...Hana-chan??"
HN: "It sounded cute.....Anyway, you're not a girl, An-chan.  You're a boy...I swear it.  You HAVE to be a boy!"
AK: "But I don't wanna."
HN: "An-chan...."
AK: *pouts* "Being a boy is stupid. Plus, your uniform is WAY cuter than mine."
HN: "An-chan....I swear....If you don't stop..."
AK: *staring at a really hot guy and not listening to her* (in thought) "Being a boy is hard.  Especially with all these cute boys.  Seriously, I don't know how people do it.  How am I supposed to make it three whole years....."
HN: "An-chan, are you listening to me?!"
AK: *points at a boy* "OOOOH!  Han-kun, look at that one!!!  I want....OWWWW!!" *HN has magically produced a short kendo stick from her bag and hit him with it.  The hot boy turns around and looks at them at the sound of AK's outburst.* "Hanako!!!  Why did you hit me??? OWWWWWW" *She keeps hitting him for his whining, then realizes that everyone is staring at them.*
HN: "Damn.  So much for operation fresh start.  See, An-chan, now look what you did!"
AK: *On the ground whimpering* "But.....he was pretty..."
HN: "I hope it was worth it....."
*They continue into the school and find their classroom*
HN: "Well, here we go.  Let's take this ride.  Remember, you're a BOY!  And you like GIRLS!" *She smooths her uniform, straightens her hair, and walks into the classroom, doing her best to look as put together as possible*
AK: "But.....Han-kun...Awwwwwwww." *He reluctantly and timidly follows her into the classroom.*
